Second exhibition leads to Gallery space

Super excited that a new gallery space in Minneapolis located in a very hip art neighborhood has selected my work to be the first exhibit. Met twice with the owner to discuss the details. There are 2 tentative dates for the opening eith September 16 or September 23. I will keep you posted.

The show is going to focus on my work with Edith J and will be called PORTRAIT OF A MUSE.
It will include early studio images, Taylors Falls, the Badlands, Darien Illinois, Center City, and our latest California trip

Looking to put app 25 images in the show but money is an issue. I can repurpose some frames from a previous exhibition, but I will still need to buy about 15 fames.

Stay tuned for more info. I will be publishing a book of just the show images which will be on sale in the Gallery.

California Dreamin

Start on Wednesday August 10, Edith J and I are headed to California to shoot with legendary photographer, R Michael Walker in Joshua Tree.

We will be driving of course 1925 miles and 28 hours. My goal is to drive straight across about 14 hours each day with 2 hours shooting each day and 6 hours sleep. I am prepared to give up sleep if need be.

We will be passing some interesting spots along the way including Vail, and Red Rock in Vegas. We will go through desert and mountains. Perfect spots for a fine art photographer.

This will be the last opportunity this year to travel anywhere significantly. Of course being able to work along the way with Edith J is a real treat. I am hoping to shoot over 1000 images in about 5 locations.

I must be better about posting

I just survied Beaver Fever

It's not what you think....  About a week after our great adventure to the Badlands with the beautiful Lola and Edith I suffered from what outdoorsman call Beaver Fever.  It seems that I thought I would experience what the settlers in the Badlands did in the mid ninteenth century.  I drank well water from a pump.  That turned out to be a big mistake about a week later.

I believe what ailed me is officially call Giadia (Not the judge in last years American Idol)  It was pretty crappy all things considered.

Anyway back to normal....sort of

All set and ready to go!!!

Well today I went shopping with my muse Edith J for the food and beverages for our trip out to the Badlands.  Will be picking up the models at 8 AM on Thursday and we are out on the road.

It will take about 9 hours to get there and we will share the driving responsibilities.  Everyone is bringing cameras as both models are also photographers.

The goal is that the 3 of us will produce a book from our experience with a working title of Badlands Rhapsady.
